Eco-Healthy Child Care® Endorsement
Dates: May 24, 2024 - May 24, 2026
EHCC is the only national program to deliver technical assistance, training, and resources to child care professionals on reducing environmental hazards within child care settings. The EHCC program’s goal is to identify common toxicants found within and around child care facilities (Head Start, Early Head Start, family child care, and center-based facilities) and reduce or all together prevent adverse health effects from exposures.
Eco-Healthy Child Care® endorses facilities that comply with 30 out of 35 simple, free or low-cost environmentally healthy best practices found on our checklist. These eco-healthy changes immediately benefit the well-being of young children and staff and create toxic-free early learning settings.
Healthier Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Award is a recognition system that supports the wellness efforts of child care providers, center staff. Little Learners has earned the Highest Honors certification by going above and beyond the Program requirements by taking steps to improve the menus, physical activity, professional development, nutrition and wellness environment and/or infant care.

Waterford Upstart is an interactive learning program that helps children in PreK-2nd grade build strong skills in reading, math, and science. With activities that adapt to your child’s skill level, children learn at just the right pace, with fun songs, stories, and games that make learning exciting.

Philosophy
We believe:
-
Children learn best through their own interests and play.
-
The teachers and caregivers should plan experiences around the children’s interests to let them grow, learn, and explore the world around them at the child’s developmental level.
-
The teachers and caregivers should plan the curriculum to incorporate children’s interests, to strengthen areas in which an individual child is challenged, to extend their development in areas where they are strong, and to make learning fun.
-
We believe children should be given opportunities to develop to their highest potential.
-
All children should be loved and all members of the community, families, children, and staff should be treated with respect.
-
Parents should be partners in their children’s childcare experiences.
-
A diverse community is important in learning to cooperate and respect others.
-
Children, staff, and parents should feel safe when they are here.
-
Reasonable limits, consistently maintained, give children a sense of security and help them gain self-control
Philanthropy & Community Involvement
Our non-profit status allows us to give back to our community, supporting the Price City Library, Community Nursing Services, Castle Country Radio's Annual Pie Auction to support cancer patients in our community, and many others. Not only do we provide a caring and safe environment for your children, but any proceeds we earn are returned to our community to make Carbon and Emery Counties better places to live.

Each year at Halloween ghosts, goblins, princesses, and super heroes haunt the Little Learners Parking lot drawn but festive trunks from which adoring adults distribute treats.
